This Life

(Reading time: 0.3 minutes)

This life is not about this life. It’s about preparing for our eternal destiny, which is to look and be like God, delight in who he is, share in all he has and participate in all he does. We’re apprentices being prepared for our ultimate duties. Understanding our eternal destiny is vital to living a God-pleasing life.

I like the thrust of this. It reminds me of the premise of “Experiencing God” – “See where God is at work and join Him there’. Looking forward to see you at the writers group!

This is SO TRUE! It is Time to LOOK UP and TO LOOK AHEAD! It is Time to see into the DEEPNESS OF THE GOD OF ABRAHAM… ISAAC AND JACOB! TO KNOW YAHWEH! We need to have HIS EYES to SEE and HIS EARS to HEAR WITH. It’s the Time of “full throttle ahead”… walking in and fulfilling our DESTINIES in the Kingdom of GOD. These things are ALL written in the BOOKS of Heaven about each one of us… since before Time began… Psalm 139. Jeremiah 1:5 We were always IN HIM!

If this life was all we had to live for, evil, cruelty and emptiness day after day how horrible it would be!! How we praise God as He helps us to grow in His Word to continue to attain what we should be doing for Him in this world. He is providing eternal life which is the hope of every believer. Even now, Lord Jesus, come!!

7 words — so powerful, so punchy. “This life is not about this life.” When I read it, first I laughed. Then I was challenged. Now I will chew on it for a while. I can so easily be put into a trance by the pressures and immediacy of this world. I think, “This is all there is.” Your seven words, for me, are like a gentle, loving slap to the face! Wake up! This is only the beginning

As I shed myself of the things of this world, your words are confirmation of the small gentle voice deep in my spirit calling me to more of the things of God. Thank you Larry.

You are correct about our destiny. Derek Prince writes that our destination is to worship God. As you wrote you explained what we can do to arrive at it: We delight in Him. We worship who He is. We desire to be like Him: Our image that He made us can meet with His image. Then, we can tell others about the joy we have in His presence.

As always, Larry points me in the right direction, helping me to walk forward with Jesus in a surer way.
